Review - The Falcon's Malteser by Anthony Horowitz

Tim Diamond is possibly the world's worst detective. He's dense, he's distracted, he's unbelievably dim-it's a good thing his younger brother Nick is around! Nick knows there'll be trouble when Tim's entrusted with a package worth over five million dollars, but he doesn't know how much trouble. When the owner of the package is murdered, Tim gets the blame, Nick gets the package, and every crook in town is out to get them! Can Nick outwit them and turn this candy caper into a sweet deal for the Diamond Brothers?
Full of humor and non-stop action, this mystery series by the author of Stormbreaker will leave readers eagerly awaiting more.

Read-A-Thon, Anyone?

I have a big event coming up in August, that will run from July 31 to August 19. the main part of the event will take place in the first few days, and I was thinking, why not add something in the middle? And that's when it hit me: a read-a-thon.

I recently participated in two read-a-thons, one hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict and the other hosted by Enna Isilee at Squeaky Books. Both were a lot of fun, and changed my negative opinion on read-a-thons (I usually don't get any reading done, but these two were different). All this got me thinking, it might be fun to host a read-a-thon, but before I make a decision, I wanted your opinion.

My questions
  1. Would anyone be interested in participating in a read-a-thon?
  2. What do you think of the read-a-thon running August 12-14 (Fri.-Sun.)? Just a note: this is really the only date available, unless I extend the entire event.
  3. Would anyone be interested in hosting a mini-challenge or donating prizes? If you are, please fill out my contact form
  4. If you've hosted a read-a-thon before, do you have any tips or suggestions?

SiSRead Finish Line Report

Well, the Spring Into Summer Read-a-thon has ended. The end seemed to come too soon, and yet take forever to get here. I think I might take the day off from reading tomorrow, I'm a little burned out right now. Anyway, onto my final read-a-thon stats and answers to the report questions.

SiS Read-A-Thon Report #1

First of all, give us an end-of-day status update. Books read, pages read, you know the drill!
Books Read: 2 (The Field Guide &  The Code)
Pages Read: 336

What is the favorite thing you have read today?
The Field Guide by Holly Black & Tony DiTerlizzi

Which mini-challenge was your favorite?
Can't really say, since I only got to do the first one.

What has been your favorite thing about the read-a-thon?
Finishing two books in one day.

What has been your LEAST favorite thing about the read-a-thon?
The fact that I wasn't home for a lot of it, and ended up missing a bunch of mini-challenges and wasn't able to get a lot of reading done.

Are you on track to meet your goals?
Unless I can somehow finish 7 1/2 books before tonight, no.

Will you be participating tomorrow? Do you have any new goals?
Technically today, now. And yes.

Spring Into Summer Read-A-Thon - Starting Line

At long last, the Spring Into Summer Read-A-Thon, hosted by Enna Isilee of Squeaky Books, has begun! I'm super excited about this read-a-thon, and will use it to challenge myself to read... *drum roll* 10 books in two days! Yeah, I know, it's not likely, but I'm going to try anyway.

Anyway, here are the books. I'll be posting updated pics throughout the read-a-thon. I'll post an updated pic tomorrow.
