Read-A-Thon: Current Status

It's day 5 of the read-a-thon. I'm tired, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet and just post my current status.
Read-A-Thon Stats
Number of books finished: 3

Books read:
Beauty Pop vol. 5 by Kiyoko Arai (4 stars)
Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings by Helene Boudreau (4 stars)
Tweet Heart by Elizabeth Rudnick (4 stars)

Currently reading: The Forests of Silence by Emily Rodda (on page 84 of 131)
And that's all I've read this week, so far. I'm hoping to finish The Forests of Silence today, and then... I don't know. I'll start another book, I just haven't picked one yet. I'll post my updated stats tonight, that is, if there are any updates.

Happy reading! ^_^

Read-A-Thon: Day 2 Update & Goals for Day 3

I was hoping yesterday's easy win would set the tone for the rest of the read-a-thon, but after today's epic fail, I'm thinking that's not the case.

Read-A-Thon: Day 1 Update & Goals for Day 2

It's a miracle! I managed to meet my goals for day one of the Spring's Serenity Read-A-Thon. Okay, it's not that much of a miracle, since I only read one manga and the last half of a short book. But still, I met my goals, and that makes me happy, because that rarely happens when I do read-a-thons.

Now, goals for day 2. *looks at To Read list*
Tomorrow, I'm aiming to read Tweet Heart by Elizabeth Rudnick and The Forests of Silence by Emily Rodda, and maybe The Lake of Tears, also by Emily Rodda (it's time to start re-reading the Deltora Quest series!). The Forests of Silence is really short, so it'll be easy to finish in a day (same goes for The Lake of Tears). Tweet Heart's format makes it a quick read, but it's still semi-long (for a single day read), so there's a chance it will also be one of my goals for day 3 of the read-a-thon.

I just noticed those two authors have the same initials. o_O

Anyway, back on track. Day 1 was a success, now let's see if I can do a repeat tomorrow.

Spring's Serenity Read-A-Thon

Today is the beginning of the Spring's Serenity Read-A-Thon hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict. I don't usually sign up for read-a-thons, because I hardly ever get any reading done during them, but I decided to join this one becuase it's a week long, so I'm bound to get some reading in (unlike those 24-48 hour read-a-thons). You can sign up for the read-a-thon here.

Anyway, onto today's reading plans. I decided to start with Beauty Pop vol. 5 by Kiyoko Arai, since I've been meaning to read it for a while, but haven't been able to find the time. After that, I'm hoping to finish Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings by Helene Boudreau. Beyong that, I have no idea. I'll be posting updates on Twitter and Goodreads all day, and will let you know how I did with today's goals sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.

Wish me luck! ^_^

On My Shelf (9) + Happy Easter!

On My Shelf highlights books I've acquired and read in the past week, as well as a little about what I'm writing, and other blog worthy news. I think it's pretty obvious where I got my inspiration for the feature from, but I will follow blog etiquette and link to Kristi (In My Mailbox @ The Story Siren), Sheila (It's Monday, What Are You Reading? @ Book Journey), and Kate (The Shelf Report @ The Neverending Shelf) anyway. ;)

What Do You Recommend? (YA Mysteries)

I need recommendations on books, and who better to ask then the YA blogosphere? This may or may not become a semi-regular feature, depending on whether I need help finding new books again.

Top Ten Tuesday (1)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is...
Top Ten Books I'd Like to See Made Into Movies

1. Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda. I have long dreamed of a Deltora movie, as it's my all time favorite series in the entire universe. But because it's fantasy and that's so easy to mess up *coughEragoncough*, I would only want to see it as a live action movie if it was on par with Lord of the Rings. I'm talking to you, Peter Jackson. O_O
2. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. Leviathan + Hayao Miyazaki = Dream. Come.True. Can you imagine it? It would be so awesome to see this as an (Miyazaki) anime.
3. Heist Society by Ally Carter. I love me a good caper movie.
4. Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. Do-over, please!
5. Maximum Ride by James Patterson. Wouldn't this make a great movie trilogy? I'd love to see this as a movie trilogy, maybe even an anime trilogy.
6. Darkest Powers by Kelley Armstrong. I love this series, and think it would make a really good movie... with the right director, cast, writer, etc.
7. Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy. It's one of the funniest books I've ever read, but laughing out loud at books is always a little awkward, so I'd love to see it as a movie.
8. Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev. Do I even need to explain?
9. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm not horrified by the casting so far, so I think this is going to be a really good movie (or at least halfway decent).
10. Lockdown by Alexander Gordon Smith. One of my favorite books of all time. Never mind, I'd be too scared to see it as a movie!
